Design Focus
- Described as an “anthropocentric” design, Solaris is a versatile, adaptable unit designed with people in mind.
- It is an unconventional, multi-function unit meant for a variety of users - families, singles, and office workers - as well as functions - cooking, eating and working.
- The design allows living spaces to lose their exclusive identities and mix with other rooms and functions. Dividing walls disappear and home, family and work merge into one unique multifaceted life, where people can play more than one role at one time.
Design Structure
- The unit is composed of stainless steel and Corian®, which are practical materials for both food preparation and clean up.
- The tapered modern shape of Solaris is defined by an ample work surface made of Corian®.
- The work surface can be used as a table, counter-top or an office desk.
Design Features
- Corian® is molded to make up the dual-basin sink as well as the rest of the worktop area.
- The sink and stovetop are protected by a Corian® splash guard that also serves as a shelf.
- The stovetop is ceramic and has four variable temperature cooking zones. It seamlessly continues the same surface because it does not have knobs or grills that stick out.
- Below the work surface is a set of drawers with wheels for easy portability.
- A steel structure hides the water pipes and tubes connected to the sink drain.
